Tina Maladi is the founder of Kids Yoga Jakarta, which brings yoga to children and families throughout Jakarta, Indonesia. Tina has been teaching yoga to children since 2006, inspired by her own experiences as a mother. Tina’s daughter was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum in 2005, and Tina has integrated yoga into their routine as part of movement therapy. Working with her daughter has informed and encouraged Tina’s passion for bringing yoga to kids, and she has trained under Sonia Sumar, founder of Yoga for the Special Child and the Radiant Child Yoga Program. In addition to Tina’s work at Kids Yoga Jakarta, she also provides after school children’s yoga programming for elementary and middle school students in national and international schools. Tina believes that yoga and education can be a powerful character-building tool for children, and is enthusiastic about expanding this work in Jakarta and throughout Indonesia.
