Julie Murcia (M.Ed, RYT, RCYT) is a Hawai’i-based educator dedicated to sharing her passion for yoga, education, wellness and culture. She is the founder of Yoga for Keiki, a community organization with a mission to share yoga and pono values with children and school communities on the Big Island. Julie is also co-founder of Na Manu Li’i Children’s Center, an environment for the East Hawai’i community that honors children’s genuine development through play, yoga and the arts. Through these organizations, Julie introduces yoga and mindfulness to children and families as a way to foster self-awareness, self-care, and pono values throughout her community. Julie has also worked as a Kindergarten teacher at Na Wai Ola Public Charter School in Mt. View, HI, and as a volunteer teacher in the Marshall Islands. She holds a Master’s in Elementary Education, and a Bachelor’s in Education and Human Geography from Dartmouth College.
