Beatrice Wong
Quotation Specialist and Yoga Teacher
Houston, Texas
“Yoga and mindfulness to me is the connection of mind and body. It’s basically just a way to stay present in today’s world that’s very go-go-go.”
Hi my name is Beatrice Wong, but you can call me B. I live in Houston, Texas, and I’m currently employed full time as a Quotation Specialist for an industrial automation company and I’m also a yoga teacher. Yoga and mindfulness to me is the connection of mind and body. It’s basically just a way to stay present in today’s world that’s very go-go-go. I was interested in Yoga Ed. because I really want to help today’s youth, and when I found out that it can be done through yoga I was pretty much sold. So far I’ve completed the Children’s Yoga Course, the Teen’s Yoga Course, and I’m currently in the Trauma-Informed Course and I’m going to complete the RCYT. My biggest takeaway from these courses so far is that the child and teen brain go through so much. The material taught me that certain behaviors teens do aren’t because of hormones like everyone thinks – it’s because the teen brain is developing and sometimes they can’t control it. This actually helped me understand some of the things that I did when I was younger. My eyes have really been opened to how much yoga and mindfulness help the developing brain, and improve social and emotional skills. These courses helped me understand children and teens in a way that I can better relate to them and communicate to them more when I do interact with them, so I highly recommend these courses, especially if you work with children and teens, and even if you don’t work with them.
