Yoga Warm Ups for Children

Just as in track, basketball, or soccer, warming up muscles before a yoga practice is an essential part of keeping students safe.

In this workshop, you will learn to facilitate yoga warm-ups for children ages 3 to 12, so that your students can feel empowered in their bodies, and feel ready for whatever yoga poses you have in store, from Rock to Crow, and everything in between!

What You’ll Learn

Understand how learning happens and how yoga can be used to support the learning process.

This workshop equips you with warm ups to help children stay safe during physical activity. You will learn and practice yoga tools to effectively warm up for exercise.

Focus: Ages 3 to 12 / Grades Pre-K to 5th



Upon completion of this course, participants are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with the Yoga Alliance.

None. Anyone who is interested in learning about this topic is welcome to take this course.


Course Materials

Upon registration for this training, you will receive:

  • Two sections of video lectures ~1 hour in total, with optional quiz questions to test your understanding
  • Yoga Ed. Warm Ups for Children Manual, complete with photos and an overview of all topics covered

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Facilitate yoga warm-ups for children ages 3 to 12
  • Support children in warming up for physical activity
