Ricardo Shima

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Ricardo Shima holds a Bachelor’s in Film and TV Production and Graphics Design from the University of Lima. He started making videos in high school—borrowing his dad’s camera and a couple of VHS recorders—to avoid doing live presentations in front of the class. Ricardo worked as a cameraman for Japanese and Peruvian TV networks until moving to California in 2001 to finish a Certificate Program in Post Production at UCLA Extension School. In Los Angeles, he collaborated on film projects with classmates from Spain, Argentina and Brazil, including a feature film in Spain in 2012.

Ricardo would love to travel the world with his family while working in documentaries. He is fluent in Spanish, Japanese and English.
