Hello! On the first week of the course, we will introduce the program and review the course schedule. You’ll also experience a teen’s yoga class in action so we can start to get a feeling for the work.
Classroom Management: What does it take to create a safe space for effective teaching and engaged learning? Find out this week. Plus, we will take this a step further by exploring how to cultivate positive relationships with your students through classroom management techniques. We will also introduce the fundamentals of lesson planning for a teen’s yoga class.
The Brain: Trust us, brain-based learning will be your best guidance for teaching yoga to children. This week, we will examine how the brain develops during adolescence and how these changes influence how students are showing up in the classroom. We will also introduce developmental milestones. You will take what we learn about the brain this week to design yoga classes for your students’ developmental needs.
Yoga Breathing, Warm-Ups, and Poses: This week we will begin to introduce yoga tools, starting with adolescents’ breathing and warm-ups. We will also introduce yoga postures for teenagers. Lessons will be interspersed with the benefits of each tool, demonstrations, and tips to put what you learn into practice.
Course Finale: Learn how to get started teaching adolescent’s yoga and create an action plan to begin teaching yoga. We will also share teaching resources that can help enrich your students’ yoga experience.

The course provides a great foundation to teach yoga to students and to qualify to as a RCYT.
Enjoyed the training. Lots of tangible tools and clear concise instructions
Very thorough and concise training !
Great information. Well paced.
Yoga Ed. is by far the very best source for teaching yoga in schools, the most pedagogically enriching experience, and Yoga Ed. courses provide the most directly implementable content.
I really enjoyed my time and the experience of the course. The webcasts (while past my bedtime!) were of great help and enrichment. Thank you for your honesty in feedback and genuine enrichment of our learning.
I am using Yoga Ed. with my students and it’s going really well. The lessons learned in the teen yoga course, trauma-sensitive tools for back to school, and your mat yoga videos and lesson plans have given me the confidence and ability to make yoga an important part of my online teaching experience for my 7th & 8th graders.
Thank you so much for providing this veteran teacher (19 years, Heath and Fitness to 9th graders) with the opportunity to keep growing in my profession. I have enjoyed the module format.
I just wanted to thank you for your help during this online training. I have really appreciated your outlook on working with kids and it is very holistic. It has already had an impact with some of the kids I see.
