As Los Angeles is the birthplace of Yoga Ed., we are making a concerted effort to bring Yoga Ed. home by expanding our Trainer and Yoga Educator base in California over the next three years. With Tara’s help, we offer scholarships for California-based Trainers to develop yoga education in our home state, with a focus on Los Angeles. Our goal is to empower Los Angeles youth and schools, the greater California educational communities, and the global yoga education movement.
We will award one partial scholarship of $5,000 to be put towards the 2016 Yoga Ed. Trainer Institute.

About Tara: Her passion and vision
Tara’s life and work reflects her passions: family, education and spirituality. Tara is dedicated to the importance of a strong, collaborative family relationship and a quality education as the foundation for a fulfilling personal and professional life. In 2001, Tara founded Yoga Ed. and continues her support of Yoga Ed. through the Tara Lynda Guber Scholarship, established to provide opportunities for educators to get the necessary training to implement this program in schools. Prior to Yoga Ed., Tara was a founding member of the board of directors of The Accelerated School, the internationally recognized charter public school in South Central Los Angeles, named “Elementary School of the Year” by TIME magazine. Tara served for eight years as co-founder and President of EDUCATION FIRST! – a non-profit organization that utilized the resources of the entertainment industry to address the crisis in American education.
Tara is involved in many projects outside of yoga. In 2012, Peter and Tara Guber became part owners of the MLB Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2011, they became part owners of the NBA Golden State Warriors. These new developments in Tara’s life have led to serving on the Golden State Warriors Foundation Board which works to promote sports and health via youth programs. In addition, Tara serves on the UCLA Health Board and The Joyful Heart Foundation. Tara currently resides in Los Angeles, California with her family: her children Jodi, Elizabeth, Sam and Jaxon and her husband Peter Guber, CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group.
